Summer has certainly arrived in London now, and we have almost been too hot to do anything during the heatwave days! This time of year is definitely about taking time out to do exactly that. After the busy Winter and Spring months we reach that point of the year where we can enjoy holidays and breaks abroad, or closer to home in the UK.
Have you ever thought about embarking on a Yoga Retreat where you can do yoga every single day? Where you can have that blissful feeling of being relaxed and in a state of deep calm and peace, throughout your holiday?
Yoga Retreats are the ideal way to unwind, stay in shape and take time out to not only 'reset' , but make changes to your lifestyle when you return home. Real transformations occur when we open ourselves to these possibilities. I posted a quote recently on social media that I think is so relevant to yoga, especially when we are surrounded by images that can make us feel less than adequate, or make us strive to ‘accomplish’ a yoga pose:

Being a witness myself of this when in the past I have pushed too hard in my yoga practice, I have found that you end up with resistance. Whether your body decides it is not ready for it, or simply needing to ‘let go’ of the image you have in your mind and just to ‘feel the pose’. This is when your body opens up and allows you to delve deeper towards transformation. When you decide that I will make an effort every single day to take five minutes to be mindful, or breathe, or get on the mat to practice and meditate; this is when you can see real positive changes in the longer term.
And this is exactly what we work on when we take time out on Yoga Retreats, to practice daily, to honour that place of resistance, to breathe, to appreciate the good in our lives and enjoy being in the company of like-minded yogi’s, eating delicious healthy food from the earth.
